English Material - Tour Guide (Semarang Trip)

Hi everyone! Today I will share with you all about English Material - Tour Guide. Starting with learning speaking then looking for foreign words in a text after that we create our own text. This lesson teaches us all how a Tour Guide explains the chosen destination to tourists.


After reading and finding difficult words, we created our own text using a template that had been given by the teacher. And this is the text I created.

"Semarang Trip"




Hello everyone! my name is Gabriel. I'm your tour guide in this two days trip. On behalf of Valvasa Tours I'd like to welcome you all to Semarang. I will briefly explain the schedule and destinations we will visit. We will visit two destinations for today, started in Semarang Old City and then Lawang Sewu. But before that, I ask you to sit comfortably and avoid eating or drinking in the bus. Thank you for agreeing.


I promise you are going to enjoy your stay in Semarang City. This is a beautiful, historic city where you can relax, enjoy the atmosphere and view of the old building, try a lots of delicious typical culinary delight and feel very safe. You can walk to see the history of these old buildings and capture moments such as taking photos or taking videos. However, in some places there are prohibitions on entering or touching items carelessly. So please obey, for your own good. 


First of all, I want to introduce you all to Old City. Old City is a cultural heritage area where there are many old and historic buildings that are hundreds of years old. In there, you can find many old buildings but still look beautiful. The iconic building is the Blenduk Church. Then the second destination is Lawang Sewu, Lawang Sewu is a historic building belonging to P.T Kereta Api Indonesia which is now a museum which presents various collections from the past of railways in Indonesia. 




Apart from these 2 destinations, our last day or tommorow in Semarang will be visiting the culinary center. There are many typical Semarang foods such as Lumpia, Wingko Babat, and others. We're going to be pulling up to the hotel in just a few minutes. Please sit back and enjoy the vacation.

Personally, I think the lesson is easy to understand. However, it is difficult to put into practice straight away. There were no difficulties, just a lot of nervousness and worry about making mistakes.
